We are proud to send you the new Sustainability Report that covers the financial year from 1 May 2019 to 30 April 2020 and includes the entire ege Group. Previously, the report was based on the seven focus areas set out in the CSR standard DS 49001, in accordance with which Ege Carpets\u2019 production sites hold certification. Going forward, we will instead focus more individually on the areas on which the individual brands concentrate in their sustainability and social responsibility work.<\/p>\n
We have reached the deadline for a number of the goals we have spent the last many years on working to achieve. So, it is time to see how far we got and define where we are going from here. Due to the new ERP system in Ege Carpets, continuous efforts to settle into the new organisation structure that was introduced on 1 May 2018, Brexit and the Covid-19 virus, it has been a challenging year for everyone. However, this fact makes it all the more pleasing that we can look back on a year in which the ege Group in many ways took a quantum leap forward in our sustainability work.<\/p>\n
Reading this report, you will learn how we have reached the goal of 100% renewable energy in our countries, how Ege Carpets have achieved Cradle to Cradle certification of all of its contract carpets at Bronze level and how the future goal is to achieve Platinum level for all carpets by 2030. Moreover, the report explains how we, through the Group’s supplier management system and Code of Conduct, impose strict requirements on all of our suppliers and therefore have achieved the acceptance of 98% of our suppliers. Besides that, you will learn how we achieved a 67% CO2<\/sub> reduction compared to 2007. We are now setting a new Group target to reduce CO2<\/sub> emissions by 100% in 2030, and thus becoming carbon neutral. And there is so much more!<\/p>\n Our aim is still to be the world\u2019s best carpet manufacturer when it comes to CSR. This Sustainability Report shows how we are dedicated to achieving this goal. The four brands in ege Group are at different stages of the CSR journey, but they are all making dedicated efforts to achieve the same agenda.
